This is the main theme for Wing Commander, being heard immediately at the start of the game, following the company logo. An unused “constant tempo version” has been included at the end of the soundtrack.

George Sanger explains the inspiration of this cue, “Govett wrote the fanfare and dogfight music as our first submission to Origin. The music had been playing in his head since high school, inspired by movies and classical music--he had no idea it would be for a game then. So that was probably motivating how he put it in
the MT-32--as a movie tune. And we just wanted to impress Chris Roberts and get/keep the gig/client. Also, the idea of the music being interactive hadn't come up yet.”
