Easy (Watkins)
Every time before this made love seem so hard
One starts to think twice to let down their guard
Then you came along put right what was wrong and made it so easy
Seen enough good times go bad that I must be a fool
To have so many plans for something still new
Albeit naive I can't help but believe cuz you make it easy
It's rare for such loveliness to be sincerely sweet
You never fail me you're always so strong when I am weak
I'm taken aback by the way you understand me well
I am the luckiest that you're the hand that I've been dealt
I'm sure my words are cliche but I do what I can
To try to convey how grateful I am
You've given a spark to a weary old heart you make love so easy

How It Should Be

How It Should Be (Watkins)
So here we are across a table again
I feel sheepishly fortunate to count you as a friend
I must look like the living dead
I know I don't always come across the way it seems in my head
You cast a brighter shade of gray
I hang on every word you say
The cracks between us still ring true
I thought I'd be strong but I guess you know me better than I do
The pain is always here and now
It points the way to breaking out
Every moment leaves no doubt
The work will surely teach you how
And I can feel it crashing over me
The love that's flowing through everything I see
The grief the joy the indignities of this strange comedy it's all how it should be
The evening light gives off a shine
The clarity of borrowed time
Pick up the pieces left to play
Dust em off and find a way to make em sing for one more day
Planned a hundred ways to tell you how and why
Now I finally have the chance and none of them seem to apply
We try to shove regret so low
But despite ourselves compassion flows
And night won't fail to turn to dawn
The dark horizon bears the sun
And I can feel it open up the fear
A space big enough to hold everything that's here
The crushing weight the raw beauty of this great tragedy it's all how it should be
Don't be afraid to be cracking a smile
I know I'm always inclined to cast about starry eyed at every change in scene every chance to fly
And I can feel it crashing over me
The love that's flowing through everything I see
The nameless dance the lucid dreams of this vast mystery it's all how it should be

Walk (Watkins/Sanger)
The harder lessons leave me second guessing if I'm gonna be okay
The backs of wrong way signs always make me think I'm headed the wrong way
But the doubts can't hide the truth, just a single glimpse is all it takes
A surge of life goes rippling through my chest and in my veins
And I'm not gonna lie down anymore
Spent enough time staying safe and warm
The bridge can burn down when I cross
The way is clear it's time to walk
Although my voice may waver what I'm saying to you I've come to know is right
I may have bloodshot eyes but that don't mean that I won't look you in the eyes
All the stumbles stops and starts have brought me to the place I'm sposed to be
The fading crashes leave a quiet sense of certainty
That I'm not gonna lie down anymore
Putting my foot down to get up off the floor
Everything is gone but nothing's lost
The ashes pave the way to walk
I'm not gonna lie down anymore
Done with trying to cling to shelter from the storm
The prison door was never locked
Face the truth and go to walk
